Nova Materia
Caroline Chaspoul and Eduardo Henriquez are the founding members of Nova Materia, a Franco-Chilean duo that explores the boundaries between electronic music, post-punk and industrial rhythms. Before forming Nova Materia, they were members of Panico, an iconic Chilean post-punk band that pioneered the fusion of punk with Latin sounds and was discovered in Europe in the early 2000s.
Nova Materia stands out for its innovative approach, using unconventional instruments such as metal, stones and found objects to craft immersive and experimental soundscapes. Their music combines avant-garde elements whilst retaining a hypnotic, danceable rhythmic quality, influenced by techno, industrial music and post-punk.
Renowned for their intense live performances, their concerts transform into veritable sound ceremonies, where suspended iron pipes, stones and metal plates become industrial and mineral percussion instruments. The result is a unique, hypnotic and cosmic experience. No one emerges unscathed from a Nova Materia concert, a veritable ‘sound mass’.
The duo have released several albums and EPs on influential labels such as Kill the DJ and Crammed Discs, and have performed at renowned international festivals as well as in concert venues across the globe. They are also involved in cross-disciplinary artistic collaborations with visual artists, choreographers and performers, cementing their reputation as creators of total sound experiences. Among these collaborations is their work with The Limiñanas and Laurent Garnier on the track “Que Calor”, for which Eduardo Henriquez wrote the lyrics and provided vocals for an energetic and psychedelic track.
L’Oléfan
L’Oléfan is a strange, shape-shifting creature born of Lolita and Fania’s unbridled imagination. Sisters with a punk spirit, raised by a father who was a street performer but who studied classical music, they grew up together and invented their own music and language. As musicians, they explore the timbres of their voices and the trumpet, blending them with skilfully crafted sounds and electronic instruments – keyboard, electric guitar and samples. The poetic lyrics are sung, whispered or chanted. They are rooted in the urgency of our times and delivered with a zany, intoxicating candour. Like a kaleidoscope, their multifaceted tracks blend lyricism, poetry, rhythms and catchy choruses, surreal and experimental songs, whisking us away on a unique musical road trip. In their daily lives, they share a bond fuelled by all manner of experiences and outlandish ideas, and on stage they exude a sensitive energy, fierce joy and biting humour. Their EP *Dans le Bassin* – recorded between Burgundy and Paris by Louis DELEGRANGE and mixed at Ligokyma studio by Aristide ROSIER – was released in spring 2026.
