Chalon sur Saône is the birthplace of Nicephore Niepce (1785 - 1833) who in 1816 is credited with inventing photography. Discover this unique collection built around the origins of the photographic image. Taking into consideration the legacy of Niepce, the museum examines the different fields of "photography" linking original images, paraphernalia and new technologies. There are temporary exhibitions of old and new photographs on a regular basis.
