    The town of Virey-le-Grand is located north of Chalon-Sur-Saône¬; it is part of the second ring of the chalonnaise agglomeration and covers an area of 1,265 ha. The population is 1370 inhabitants. The municipal territory is crossed in a north-south axis by the RD19 connecting Beaune and Chalon-Sur-Saône. This county does not, however, cross the town.
