  • This circuit will lead you through the peaceful streets of the village, on the bocage paths and on the ancient Roman Way. From the top of the Route des Crêtes, you will see Chalon and the Saône valley and perhaps you will have the chance to see Mont-Blanc… Also stop at the cemetery for a few moments to admire the Classified Cross from the 16th century.

Find the starting point: In the center of the village, along the RD261, to the right of the town hall staircase. Go down towards the church. 18th century fireplaces on display in the nave. At the church, turn left on rue de l'Église, to the cemetery (1). In the cemetery, a beautiful 16th century cross. In the bend before the cemetery, take the unpaved path that runs along the cemetery, on the right. Then stay left and take the path that descends sharply. Downstairs continue on the same path. At the top of the steep slope, at a place called "la Planchotte", turn left onto the Roman road. At the road (2), turn left towards the "Fontaine du Longe". Panoramas on Aluze, Chalon and the Saône valley but also on the Jura mountains and Mont Blanc, on a clear day. Go down by the first road on the left to the first path on the right, at the "Fontaine du Longe" (3). Take it towards the place called "En Bel Air". Ignore the path down to the left and continue straight. At the gravel path, take opposite and go to the road and the picnic area of the place des noyers (4). 100 m to the right, off the marked circuit, from the road, panorama over the Dheune valley, Couchois and Mont Rome on one side and over Charrecey, Aluze and Chalon on the other. Watch out for cars, narrow road. Place des noyers, turn left on the road. At the crossroads, towards the Croix de Bel Air, cross the road, turn left and follow the RD261. Be careful while crossing. At the first bend, descend by the Grimpette de Cruzille. 19th century wash house. Ignore the street that goes down to the right. 30 m to the left, in the little square, the Fontaine aux Dames. Cross the square, continue straight to join the road. Take a right downhill to reach the school and the town hall.
