Site d'escalade - Remigny

Climbing in Remigny
  • The cliff is not only popular with the people of Chalonnais, but also with climbers from all over the world when the weather is fine. The site is even overrun and sold out on some long weekends. The cliff is not only popular with the people of Chalonnais, but also with climbers from all over the world when the weather is fine. The site is even overrun and sold out on some long weekends. Burgundians as well as Parisians, Germans and English love this site, which is both family-friendly (easy access and routes accessible to all) and very sporty with its overhangs. A family-friendly crag with plenty of space at the bottom, immediate access to a large car park, and easy climbing on the 3 slightly slabbed faces, where the top of the routes can sometimes be tricky. More difficult climbing on the 3 slopes, all of which are over 6b (up to 8a) and require violent blocking, foot placement and continuity. Historically, some of the routes were opened in the 85s by climbers from the CAF Creusot (Ti punch sector). For a long time, the cliff was off-limits and the area was reserved for hunting; an arrangement was reached in 2002 which enabled it to be equipped thanks to the CD71 FFME. Nearly 70 well-equipped, modern routes, all on sealed pins, await you. A former "grey" quarry used to build the canal, it offers routes of between 18 and 25m, mainly in layered limestone with holes in horizontal cracks. This is a fine summer crag, with a West (slabs) and North (overhangs) orientation, where you can climb in the heat without any problems! ATTENTION: Site closed from 15 September to 1 March by municipal decree (hunting reserve).
