Tuesday 5 September 1944, Chalon-sur-Saône was liberated… But what about before that?
What was life like in the town whilst it was under occupation? How did people cope with living so close to the ‘free zone’ on the left bank?
This tour will provide an opportunity to reflect on four years of occupation, the Liberation, and then the Armistice. It will be a chance to rediscover the sites of remembrance linked to this difficult period in history.
