The Chalon dans la Rue festival in a nutshell: The Chalon dans la rue festival is a key event in the creation of public spaces, and reflects the latest developments in the street arts. Every year, nearly 180 French and international companies take over Chalon-sur-Saône. No form or discipline is favoured. Historic companies mingle with younger ones, street arts with digital arts, live shows with performances. Some creations question society, while others play the night owl, bypass "standard formats", propose other temporalities or follow more traditional paths. Over the course of 4 days, the city becomes a vast field of expression where new forms of dialogue between artists, the city, artworks and audiences are imagined.
