Exhibition "Le Charolais: Terre d'Abolition de l'Esclavage" at the Espace Sainte Avoye (rue Lamartine) in La Clayette from 04 to 07 June 2026, from 2pm to 5pm. Free admission. In honour of the 25th anniversary of the Taubira Law. From 1651 to 1894, 18 abolitionists from the irenic families of Paray-le Monial, 14 of whom lived in Saône-et-Loire, including Clayette's own Jean-Claude de La Métherie, whose brother Jean-Baptiste was elected the first mayor of La Clayette in 1790, at the first town council meeting in the Sainte Avoye chapel.
