The sisters’ quarters, the so-called ‘tin room’, the refectory: these are the spaces we invite you to (re)discover in the company of a certified guide from the ‘Villes et Pays d’Art et d’Histoire’ scheme.
Built along the Saône when the hospital was first established, the nuns’ community building is distinguished by its Flemish gable. The rooms offer a glimpse into the daily lives of the Sisters of Saint Martha, the hospital sisters who worked at the hospital from the 17th to the 20th century. In the 17th and 18th centuries, alterations were made to improve the sisters’ daily lives.
