FAQ
  • What types of events can we organize?

All types of events (except weddings and private events) can be organized at the exhibition center: public or trade shows, conventions, seminars, meetings, forums, corporate events, workshops, product launches, exhibitions, symposia, administrative competitions, Christmas trees, shows, concerts, sporting events.

Our team is on hand to study your project and support you from A to Z.

  • Who defines the program of shows and selects the artists?

The program is validated by A Chalon Spectacles, according to :

    – National and international tour operators and producers programming shows: concerts by French and international singers and groups, musicals, shows, circus, one (wo)man shows, ballets… These are usually decided 6 months to 2 years in advance.

    – Producers and promoters of regional and national shows, who regularly program artists, whether on tour or not. They may also organize themed events or artist line-ups from time to time.

    – Record companies, who partner with producers to program “concert-events”, often preceded by showcases, for example to launch a young artist or promote a new album.

    – National or regional media, organizations and agencies organizing their own shows, festivals or events.

    – Local, regional and national associations wishing to program shows for charity or otherwise.

The site is open to all event organizers for the organization of public or private events.

The A Chalon Spectacles team doesn’t buy shows, so we don’t “choose” the artists we program.

  • How long does it take to put on a show?

That’s how a “typical day” for a show or concert can be summed up:

    – 5 or 6 a.m.: the organizer’s technical team (the “production”) arrives at the venue. They are greeted by the site’s operations team and take possession of the premises. This is called the “get in”. Setup of sets, lights and other technical requirements for the show begins.

    – Early afternoon: all the equipment is set up. The artistic production team arrives. It’s time for the “sound check”: we test the sound of each instrument, the lights, the staging and the sequences. It’s also rehearsal time for the artist or group.

    – Early evening: doors open 1 h to 2 h before the start of the show. A Chalon Événements staff and back-up teams welcome the public in the reception hall, then take them to the concert hall. They ensure their safety and the smooth running of their evening, before, during and after the show.

    – After the show: the production team dismantles the equipment and stows it in the trucks, ready to set off again. To do this, they employ specialized personnel known as “roadies”.

    – Once the production team has left the venue, it’s not all over! The A Chalon Événements technical team prepares to host the next event: the stage has to be dismantled and reconfigured according to requirements, and special arrangements made.

At trade shows, days are also devoted to setting up and dismantling the space: carpeting, stands, lighting, electricity, cleaning… The days when the event is open are just the tip of the iceberg!

  • Wifi

The hall is not equipped with WiFi for public events, unless offered by a trade show organizer. WiFi is available for most business events.

  • Are there giant screens in the room?

This is not always the case. In fact, at a show or exhibition, the installation of video equipment is decided by the event organizer alone. It is the producers and tour organizers, and they alone, who decide, for example, on the technical elements of the show, including whether or not to install giant screens. In all cases, this equipment belongs to the organizer and travels with him. The site operations team does not have any video equipment of its own.

  • Smoking area

The hall has a smoking area, the esplanade, accessible to smokers before and after events. Please use the ashtrays provided.
