In concert at St Sernin du Plain.
In concert at St Sernin du Plain.
Let's be happy, let's be raw!
Zoe Heselton will be scratching at our buried emotions on 28 February in St Sernin du Plain.
Zoe Heselton's voice is exceptional, stretchy and powerfully embodied, and her approach to the electric guitar is a stunt. Whether alone, in a duo or in a trio, she sings what we'll call songs for want of a better term, but which are dizzy spells, falls from heights, dances to get back up again. Inside, everything that has always vibrated in the blues vibrates.
Zoe Heselton is a British poet, songwriter, guitarist and singer based in Strasbourg. Steeped in traditional, folk, blues and flamenco music, spoken word poetry and a host of eclectic and experimental influences, her lively, intimate music, which she delivers with an incisive, sensitive electric guitar, oscillates between vulnerability and power, recounting darkness and reparation. Sometimes melodious, sometimes dissonant, her songs are litanies for survival, poems of tenderness and rage.
