The Orchestre Victor Hugo promises a dream afternoon with Béla Bartòk, Zoltán Kodály and Antonín Dvorák. Bartòk and Kodály were not only two of the greatest names in twentieth-century Hungarian music, but also two friends who shared with the most famous of Czech composers, Antonín Dvorák, the same desire to make known the treasures of their countries' popular music.
By performing Kodály's Galánta Dances inspired by gypsy orchestras, Bartók's five Hungarian Sketches with Magyar folk accents, and Dvorák's exhilarating Seventh Symphony, the Orchestra takes us to the heart of Central Europe.
