LES DEUX TCHOUM is first and foremost a film about 40 days of winter migration by the Venengo clan in the Polar Urals and the Beloïarsk tundra. From transhumance (The Three Choums), the clan returns to nomadism with The Two Choums. A great intimate film, an indigenous road movie with drone footage in very difficult conditions. The spirit of the road movie is preserved, even if the clan is in a tundra with no roads, villages or towns, a wild tundra, an almost lunar setting where the Khanty have learned to survive with the winter getting stronger (furious windstorms, snowstorms, fog, frost) and the night coming in the afternoon.
