6, place de l'Evêché, 71640 Saint-Denis-de-Vaux
Built in the 13th century, this bishop's residence headed an estate belonging to the Bishopric of Autun.
It was extensively altered in the 15th century by Jean Rolin, bishop and later cardinal of Autun, who gave it its current Gothic façade, among other works.
Call 06 14 67 27 61 for a tour that will reveal the particularities of old buildings (architectural interpretation, typology, materials, implementation, properties, pathologies, restoration). The owner will be galloping in from the Middle Ages to share a moment of constructive exchange.
The Friends of the Bishopric Jean Rolin association, set up in 2023, brings this historic landmark back to life in its own environment, hosting meetings, adult and school groups, lectures, concerts, demonstrations by heritage craftsmen and so on.
