Departing from Remigny, this cycle route takes you to discover the southern Chalonnais region, between towpaths, characterful villages, and vineyard panoramas. An ideal loop for lovers of peace, nature, and heritage, with shaded passages along the Canal du Centre and forays into the hillsides. You begin your journey in Remigny, on the banks of the canal, in a bucolic setting conducive to a gentle warm-up. Following the canal to the west, you pass through Saint-Gilles and Dennevy, peaceful villages with stone houses, witnesses to the region's river and wine history. You then reach Saint-Léger-sur-Dheune, a former river port and a true cycling hub, perfect for a break in the shade of the plane trees or by the water. Then the route leaves the banks to rise gently towards Aluze, offering breathtaking views of the vineyards and hills of Chalonnais. The landscape changes, becoming more hilly, punctuated by low walls and paths lined with cherry or almond trees depending on the season. The village of Chamilly, dominated by its castle nestled in a green setting, marks a lovely heritage moment before reaching Chassey-le-Camp, the final stage of the loop. There you will find the wine-growing atmosphere and the serenity of Burgundian villages, between cellars, old stones and bountiful nature. This circuit wonderfully combines the pleasure of cycling, the richness of the terroir and the diversity of landscapes, with a perfect balance between flat paths along the canal and small country roads. An authentic experience to reconnect with rural and lively Burgundy, just a few turns of the wheel from the greenway.
