2ème édition de la Journée de la forêt

On Friday 1 May, Givry town council is organising the second Forest Day, around the Fontaine Couverte pond, from 10am to 5pm. The aim of this year's event is to offer a friendly and accessible event dedicated to nature, the forest and biodiversity. Immerse yourself in nature Throughout the day, visitors will be able to follow a 4-kilometre nature trail accessible to all, linking the Etang de Fontaine Couverte to the Etang du Quart. This walk, which is accessible to as many people as possible, takes the form of a loop to discover the local landscapes and the wealth of flora and fauna. A rich and educational programme Numerous awareness-raising stands and workshops will be on offer to help visitors better understand environmental issues and discover the local natural heritage. The programme includes Meetings with wood and environment professionals Discover biodiversity (trees, mushrooms, wildlife) Practical workshops for young and old Storytelling and activities for young audiences Raising awareness of eco-responsible actions Activities for all ages Reading for children - "Vive la Vie Two sessions are on offer at 2.30pm and 4pm (duration: 30 to 40 minutes), offering youngsters a moment of escape and imagination. Exhibition on the Givry forest Open all day, this exhibition, produced in partnership with the Médiathèque, provides a better understanding of the richness and challenges of the local forest. Introduction to orienteering With Givry Sport Orientation, set off on an adventure with routes suitable for all levels. A fun and sporting activity (fee payable). Understanding and observing nature Exploring biodiversity The Société des Sciences naturelles et mycologiques de Chalon guides you on a discovery of flowers, plants and mushrooms. Birdwatching An ornithology specialist will help you learn more about local species and their habitats. Getting started and learning First aid in the wild The fire brigade presents the essential steps to take in the event of an accident in the great outdoors. Bloodhound demonstration The Société de chasse La Diane showcases the impressive work of these specialist dogs. Introduction to fishing Children can learn the basics of fishing with Pêche & Loisirs. Food and refreshments will also be available on site. Discover beekeeping The Syndicat Apicole départemental de Saône-et-Loire invites you to explore the world of bees and the profession of beekeeper. Create and discover skills Land Art workshop Offered by the association Givrotine Écologie Partages (A.G.E.P.), this workshop enables you to create artistic works using natural elements. Wood crafts Sculptors, engravers and wood turners will be sharing their skills and techniques with the public. A convivial moment A refreshment stall and a range of food and drink will be available on site throughout the day.
