On Friday 1 May, Givry town council is organising the second Forest Day, around the Fontaine Couverte pond, from 10am to 5pm. The aim of this year's event is to offer a friendly and accessible event dedicated to nature, the forest and biodiversity.
Immerse yourself in nature
Throughout the day, visitors will be able to follow a 4-kilometre nature trail accessible to all, linking the Etang de Fontaine Couverte to the Etang du Quart. This walk, which is accessible to as many people as possible, takes the form of a loop to discover the local landscapes and the wealth of flora and fauna.
A rich and educational programme
Numerous awareness-raising stands and workshops will be on offer to help visitors better understand environmental issues and discover the local natural heritage.

Discover biodiversity (trees, mushrooms, wildlife)
Practical workshops for young and old
Storytelling and activities for young audiences
Raising awareness of eco-responsible actions

Reading for children - "Vive la Vie
Two sessions are on offer at 2.30pm and 4pm (duration: 30 to 40 minutes), offering youngsters a moment of escape and imagination.
Exhibition on the Givry forest
Open all day, this exhibition, produced in partnership with the Médiathèque, provides a better understanding of the richness and challenges of the local forest.
Introduction to orienteering
With Givry Sport Orientation, set off on an adventure with routes suitable for all levels. A fun and sporting activity (fee payable).
