By car, train or plane, there are many ways to get to the region, or to get around once you’re there if you’re coming by train. Find out more.


I come by car

from Paris or Lyon

Take the A6 freeway:

  • Exit 25 Chalon Nord
  • Exit 25.1 Chalon Centre
  • Exit 26 Chalon Sud

Journey time :

  • Paris 3h
  • Lyon : 1h

From the west, take the N80 (formerly RCEA)


I come by train

From Paris, Lyon, Lille, Marseille, Brussels

Le Creusot TGV station is served by direct trains from Paris, Lyon, Lille and Brussels. It is a 30-minute drive from Chalon-sur-Saône. Shuttle buses run between Le Creusot and Chalon-sur-Saône stations.

I'm flying in

From Lyon or Dole

Two airports are nearby:

  • Lyon Saint-Exupéry airport: 1h20 drive
  • Dole Jura airport: 50-minute drive
  • Indicative flight times:
  • Paris – Lyon Saint-Exupéry : 1h05
  • Brussels – Lyon Saint-Exupéry: 1h25
  • Lille – Lyon Saint-Exupéry: 1h30
  • Dole Jura airport has regular flights to Porto, Bastia, Marrakech and Fez.

There’s also the Chalon Champforgeuil business airport in the immediate vicinity of Chalon-sur-Saône.
