South of the Côte de Beaune, and north of the Mâconnais, discover the Côte Chalonnaise. Follow the D981 and discover the region’s appellations. From north to south, discover Bouzeron, Rully, Mercurey, Givry and Montagny. The departmental road passes close by or through the various villages. Take your time, stop for a break, visit the villages and indulge in the wineries. These towns are brimming with character, with cobbled streets, lively squares and little cafés where bikers can take a well-deserved break. It’s an opportunity to discover the authenticity of local life at the leisurely pace of the Burgundy countryside.

For a change from the freeway, exit at Beaune Sud, join the D974 towards Chagny and drive through the vineyards of the southern Côtes de Beaune. After Chagny, take the D981 south. Take the Tournus exit, and enjoy a visit to the vineyards of southern Burgundy. There are many parallel itineraries, allowing you to enjoy the small roads through the various villages.
