Between wine tourism and cultural heritage, this Burgundy region unveils an enchanting journey where the pleasures of the palate meet age-old history. Immerse yourself in the essence of the Côte Chalonnaise, where every tasting and every visit reveals a harmonious balance between winegrowing traditions and cultural heritage. Visits to châteaux, typical villages, Romanesque churches and small heritage sites, you’ll appreciate this wealth of history along the way.

Authentic villages

A preserved heritage

The villages of the Côte Chalonnaise are brimming with authenticity. Explore the cobbled streets of Givry, Rully, or Mercurey, where the stone houses bear witness to a rich winegrowing history. Small cafés, colorful markets and local stores add a picturesque touch to the exploration. You’ll visit wineries rich in history, handed down from generation to generation. Authentic cellars, cosy tasting rooms: you’ll enjoy getting lost in the villages and discovering their sometimes well-hidden heritage treasures.

The Route des Châteaux

The Côte Chalonnaise region is home to a well-preserved cultural heritage, illustrated by castles, Romanesque churches and historic sites. Rully and Germolles, built between the 12th and 14th centuries,
are contemporary and complementary. One (Rully) is a fortified castle that has retained its defensive aspect despite the modifications made over the centuries, while the other (Germolles) is a former fortified house that became a luxurious ducal residence. One era, two buildings, two destinies!
