Time for festivities

Time for festivities

The Côte Chalonnaise boasts a rich calendar of festivities, reflecting the dynamic and welcoming spirit of the region. Whether you’re an occasional visitor or a Côte Chalonnaise enthusiast, these varied events offer total immersion in local culture, conviviality and joie de vivre. The whole year follows the rhythm of the vineyards. January sees the start of the Saint Vincent festival in the villages, followed by the Côte Chalonnaise Wine Marathon, the œnorires, the Musicaves and the Paulée in October, which heralds the end of the grape harvest.

La Paulée de la Côte Chalonnaise

Our favorite

What is the Paulée? A festival celebrating the end of the grape harvest in the heart of Burgundy. Now a not-to-be-missed event in Chalon-sur-Saône, La Paulée brings together visitors, tourists, winegrowers and restaurateurs to celebrate the region’s gastronomic delights. On this occasion, Côte Chalonnaise winegrowers present their wines from the year’s harvest. Wines for all events are donated by Côte Chalonnaise winegrowers and merchants (Rully, Bouzeron, Mercurey, Givry, Montagny, Bourgogne, Côte Chalonnaise, Crémant de Bourgogne…).

Weekend ideas

Organized by the city of Chalon-sur-Saône, in partnership with the Côte Chalonnaise winegrowers, mutual aid societies and wine brotherhoods. 3 days of events, tastings, parades and a gala dinner. An opportunity to discover the region over a full weekend.

The Wine Marathon

The route traverses the region’s magnificent vineyards, offering runners panoramic views of picturesque wine-growing landscapes, historic villages and majestic châteaux. Participants can choose from a range of distances, from full marathons to shorter races suitable for all fitness levels (5 race formats).

What makes the Côte Chalonnaise Wine Marathon truly special is the opportunity for runners to taste high-quality wines along the way. Local winemakers set up tasting stands along the route, offering participants the chance to sample a selection of the region’s renowned wines.
