Older Chalonnais know it well. And in the back of their minds, some of them probably still remember the concerts that took place year after year with stars of French chanson. Today, the Théâtre de Verdure is enjoying a second lease of life. Renovated in 2023, it is back to its former function as an open-air stage. Events, concerts, recitals – anything can be imagined on this site. “As in its heyday, this space can – and must! – become the stage for festive and cultural events that will enable the people of Chalonnais to appreciate its peaceful atmosphere and verdant setting”.

Accessibility: Located in the immediate vicinity of the A6 and RCEA motorways, the Théâtre de Verdure enjoys excellent road access. What’s more, it’s just a few minutes from the Chalon-sur-Saône SNCF train station, making it easy to get to.
Proximity to major cities: Chalon-sur-Saône is an hour’s drive from Lyon and 1h20 from Paris by TGV, providing a large population and potential visitor pool. Dijon and Macon are less than 1 hour’s drive from the Théâtre de Verdure, making it easy to attend events held on site.
