The Blue Flag label

The Blue Flag is an environmental quality label awarded each year to marinas committed to a policy of sustainable tourism development. The program awards labels to marinas that implement environmentally-friendly practices. It promotes water quality and encourages initiatives aimed at limiting the impact of tourist activities on our ecosystem.

An environmental label

and tourism

In 2023, the Grand Chalon marina was awarded Blue Flag certification, an internationally recognized environmental and tourism label that rewards harbors committed to sustainable development. This certification guarantees boaters and tourists environmentally-friendly navigation. The port of Grand Chalon offers a range of facilities and services designed to preserve biodiversity and reduce its ecological impact. For example, a careening area recovers wastewater for boat maintenance, new pontoons improve safety, and awareness-raising campaigns are organized.

Waste management

compost and sorting area

The Grand Chalon marina has demonstrated its deep commitment to preserving the environment by setting up a selective sorting area and a composting system. This initiative reflects an ecological awareness that extends to all aspects of its operations, from waste management to the recovery of organic matter. By encouraging boaters and visitors to adopt environmentally-friendly practices, the port aims to reduce its ecological footprint and promote sustainability.

Raising awareness of the importance of recycling and composting is at the heart of its actions, with educational initiatives and regular awareness programs. By integrating environmentally-friendly practices into its day-to-day operations, the Grand Chalon marina actively contributes to the preservation of river ecosystems and the promotion of a lifestyle that respects nature.

The marina works closely with Le Grand Chalon to promote eco-responsible initiatives such as composting and sorting instructions.

Eco-responsible events

The marina attaches great importance to its ecological responsibility, closely monitoring its impact on waterways, infrastructures, activities and events. It is actively involved in eco-responsible initiatives such as the Fête du Port and Opération Port Propre, which promote sustainable practices. Through these actions, the port aims to preserve the river environment while offering pleasant, nature-friendly experiences to its visitors and boaters.
