Following the Saône, the route reaches Verdun-sur-le-Doubs, a charming town located at the confluence of the Doubs and Saône rivers. This stage marks a landscape transition to more open settings, punctuated by the water, towpaths, and a peaceful atmosphere conducive to long-distance hiking.
