Juke Box Boum

With Patricia’s help, each child will choose their favourite track from a list of around forty songs. To indicate their choice, they will have to interact with the set design in a playful way. From a selection of four original monsters, each child will take on the role of the one they have chosen, using simple yet evocative make-up. Lucie will help them with their transformation and then keep them entertained whilst they wait for the party to begin. From there, it’s time for a quick warm-up, a countdown, and the party gets underway. The ‘La Boum’ party kicks off with an upbeat musical introduction and one of the tracks selected by the children. Lucie suggests some ‘underground’ dance routines which the children can take part in if they wish. Halfway through a track, the music stops… What to do when the music stops? Will the children be able to save the party? After being asked to choose the tracks they’ll dance to, they then transform into imaginary monsters — Mono, Môstache, Cyclo & Bouh — to take to the dance floor. But suddenly, the party comes to a halt… The monsters take possession of the performers, who search for ways to get it going again. Through spectacular musical and choreographed performances and group sing-alongs and dances, young and old alike work together to get La Juke-Box Boum up and running again! A second session is planned for families supported by the Le Pont Association.
