Exploring the Grand Chalon by bike: between the Saône and the Côte Chalonnaise

The Grand Chalon area is an ideal destination for exploring southern Burgundy by bike. From Chalon-sur-Saône, greenways and cycle routes take you along the Saône, through the vineyards of the Côte Chalonnaise or towards the landscapes of southern Burgundy. The area is home to France’s first greenway, created in 1997 between Givry and Cluny. Today, Saône-et-Loire boasts over 220 km of greenways and numerous cycle routes, allowing you to plan everything from a short ride lasting a few hours to a proper cycling tour.
